Due to a time-crunch with an event, I ordered a variety of different shapewear pieces (all ultra-high waist to mid-thigh) from this, and other, sites. This was the best one at staying up (and without rolling over at the top) because it has thin boning up the back, on either side.
I wore a slinky dress; if I was in front of a spotlight, and you were scrutinising, you might see the faintest outline of the very smooth panel change across the front of the hip bone area, the faint trace of the boning at rear top, and where it ended at the top of my back (but honestly this looked like a small crinkle in the fabric and wasn’t as scary as I thought)… but the event was at night, no spotlights, so I went with these and below are my other reasons for doing so! I am a super perfectionist and would never have been caught dead at this event in anything that I felt was semi-obvious or embarrassingly 'Look, shapewear underneath'!
I tried other shapewear from Miraclesuit, the more-or-less seamless version of this from La Sculpte Australia, and Nancy Gantz + Spanx versions of this. None had the slimming power of this Miraclesuit Black Magic one, particularly at the sides, around the top of the thigh, where I am widest. This WILL actually smooth your thighs. (Second place was the La Sculpte high-waist thigh shaper but the top rolled down badly and the thigh area was a little more slimming on this Black Magic one.) The other Miraclesuit one, 'Sheer Shaping', also stayed up but I wasn't 100% confident it would remain in place and it had the thin mesh thigh panels which, despite it being called X-Firm, didn't shape the thigh/sides of bottom to anywhere near the degree that this did.
No worries at the bottom of leg, silicone is great for keeping in place. Of course, there were small marks around my legs from the silicone at end of the evening, minuscule price to pay for invisible seams / non-existent "shapewear-garment-ending, real-skin-beginning” lines.
Went with this style because I couldn’t find (worldwide) a strapless plunge shapewear item, let alone one that went to the mid/lower thigh.
This one is a winner! And, IMHO, Miraclesuit eat Spanx and other big brands alive with their ability to slim. Thank you Miraclesuit!
(P.s. if anyone wants to invent strapless plunging bust-line shapewear that goes to the thigh, yes please, competition=0, and we need to talk!)
